SO MUCH HAPPENING!!!
Wow, things are really piling up in Brenham! So much so that I can't include it all in one blog... it's going to take several! First, let's look at the live entertainment that's coming our way in the not terribly distant future.
To begin, we have the Unity Theatre's production of The Diary of Anne Frank. Opening February 9 and playing each Thursday, Friday, Saturday night and Sunday's afternoon matinee, through February 26, the Unity Theatre brings to life this powerful adaptation of the inspiring Anne Frank as she confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with honesty, wit and determination. Buy your tickets through Main Street House (by adding the Unity Theatre Package to your reservation) and receive discounted seats and, for Friday and Saturday nights, admittance to the Players' Club, open before the play, during intermission and after the show. After the show, the cast and crew come join you!
Valentine celebrations abound! on Saturday, February 11 at 2:00 PM, Festival Hill in Round Top will present It's All About Love Valentine Concert with Dick Smith and Friends! After the performance, join Festival Hill staff and friends on the Concert Hall stage for a reception with refreshing drinks and delectable Valentine treats from the Festival Hill Kitchen! As the concert is a fundraiser for the Festival Hill Library, you will have an opportunity to sponsor a book of your choice for the Adopt-a-Book Program and bid on special silent auction items. Your ticket enters you in a drawing for a chance to win fantastic door prizes! Tickets are $10 for students and $30 for adults, and can be purchased here.
Also for Valentine's Day, Tuesday night, February 14 at Brenham's own Ninety-Six West restaurant, enjoy a special four course meal and complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate the occasion! See the full menu here! The price is $60 per person plus tax and gratuity, to call (979) 421-8388 right now to make your reservations! And yes, I do consider a presentation of the culinary arts "Live Entertainment"!
HOMEsweetFARM, the farmers' market, biergarten and live performance venue within easy stumbling distance of our Big Sister Boutique Hotel, the Ant Street Inn, and easy walking distance of the Main Street House, continues presenting fantastic live entertainment each Friday and Saturday night! Start with this afternoon, a pot luck Super Bowl Watch Party! Bring your favorite tailgate item, or just show up! There'll be plenty! On Tuesday, February 7, HsF will host the Zythological Society of North America, where the Zyths will be presenting a special cask of Brazos Valley Brewery's Holy Cow American Stout! This will be the ONLY place and the ONLY time you'll have the opportunity to sample this great Texas brew, so show up at 7:00 PM, 'cause it'll be gone by 8, if I know the Zyths! On Thursday, February 9, from 6:00 PM until 9, HsF will host another potluck, this time with a party with Monty Python and the Holy Grail! So bring your favorite SPAM dish and clog your coconuts together as you ride into downtown Brenham! On Friday, February 10, at 7:00 PM, HsF will open the Lounge featuring the art works of Doug Cason! Come and meet the artist, grab a bite and a brew, then relax with the music of Magpie Moon! Wow, what a Friday night! And Saturday, February 11, HsF presents the musical stylings of Line Shack Six!
And this is just the stuff going on THIS WEEK! Make your reservations NOW!
