Theatre Things to do in Brenham, Early June, 2017
First things first. Theatre. Unity Theatre. Wow!
Unity Theatre is a professional theatre, not a community theatre. Unity brings in talent, both on the stage and backstage, from all over the country. This production of Ken Ludwig's Leading Ladies is no exception.
Presented on the Main Stage, you'll need to be in good shape to keep up with this farce! I was absolutely exhausted at intermission! And don't be surprised if the play runs about 15 minutes longer than it's originally designed... the actors have to pause for the laughter!
In this play, two down-on-their-luck actors resolve to impersonate an elderly woman's long lost nephews in order to inherit her fortune, only to discover that the nephews aren't nephews... they're nieces!
Showing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from June 1 through June 18, Leading Ladies is sure to become one of your favorites!
Yes, we have a Unity Theatre package! Each package includes two discounted tickets ($23 instead of the usual $27) plus, as a guest of the Main Street House, you're automatically a member of the Players' Club for the evening! The Players' Club is a lounge just off the main lobby at Unity Theatre. It's open before the play, during intermission and after the show. Always the very nice refreshments are complimentary for members and our guests, and after the show the cast and crew will come join you! All you have to do is "Enhance Your Stay"
AND, if you purchase tickets through MSH for the Saturday, June 10 performance, you'll be invited to Party with the Players, a dinner served after the show in the Players' Club! It's complimentary, but please let us know when you purchase your tickets (at least 48 hours in advance) that you'll be attending the Party with the Players.
